Location – The town Kapchorwa is found in Kapchorwa district in the Eastern region of Uganda. It is 65km by road north east of Mbale the nearest largest city and 295km north east of Kampala, the capital city of Uganda
History– Kapchorwa is occupied by the Sebei people who were known for female genital mutilation .they would circumcise both men and women and before circumcision you’re taken to be young regardless of age .The communities live on subsistence farming.
Attractions
Mount Elgon national park- There is a caldera on the top of the ranges and it remained as a depression on the top of the mountain and it’s a great tourist attraction
Exploration centre- This is a designed centre for training of local communities and visitors on ecological aspects and sustainable use of the park s resources. And also offers accommodation to the visitors
Sipi Falls- These are the key attractions in Kapchorwa and these falls are four with the bottom walk way .There also cave exploitation and nature walks that gives an experience to tell.
Pian upe game reserve- This reserve is found in Nakapipirit and it’s a habitat to so many game species due to various rivers and green river valley animals like zebras, Orex, Ooribi and ostriches.
