Car Rental Requirements – To rent a car in Uganda with us, you are required to submit copies of your passport, National ID plus a driver’s license (International Driver’s License for foreigners). You have to be between the ages of 22 to 70 to drive a rental car and have at least 2 years of driving experience. You will have to make a 30% deposit of the total cost to confirm the reservation of any car.
Minimum rental period – The minimu rental period for all cars is 24 hours and if you wish to rent the car for less than 24 hours, a daily charge will still apply.
Car rates include – Government tax, insurance, 24-hour road assistance, maintenance plus unlimited mileage meaning you can drive anywhere as long as it is within Ugandan borders. Note: Special rates apply for long term car rental deals (minimum 20 days )
Rates exclude – Fuel, Personal insurance, one-way rentals, additional drivers, special equipment like child seats, parking fees, entrance fees, traffic penalties.
Extra drivers – The rental cars can only be driven by a maximum of 2 people besides the main driver. If you plan on using an additional driver during the road, you should always put it forward to the reservations to avoid extra penalties. Additional drivers should be added and signed to the rental agreement and should adhere to the car rental requirements above. In case of any collision or accident caused by an unregistered driver, the car insurance will be void.
Flight Info – It’s the responsibility of the client to provide the reservations team with correct flight details including the arrival time and airline boarded. This will avoid problems of waiting or missing on both the client’s side and company plus it gives the company chance to pick you up at the right and place.
Car delivery – Kampala car rental services doesn’t charge any extra fee to deliver the car to you at the airport, hotel or residence in Kampala but if it’s up-country, then there will be an extra fee for transfer depending on the type of rental car as well as distance.
Delayed & Early Return – A rental car will have to be returned on the date specified in the agreement and in case your return is late, then an extra fee will be charged (1/4 of the day rate) and if you bring it a day after the rental period, then a full day rate will be charged. No refunds will be given for early return of any vehicle
Car Condition & Fuel – The rental car should be returned to the company in the same condition it was given to you. Any damages may lead to extra charges. We dont offer full fuel tank but the client should return the car as rented. There will be no fuel refund in case the car is returned with more fuel than at pick-up time. You can also required for ful tank before you arrive, cost will be added to the car rate.
Car Cancellation Policy – Clients will be refunded depending on the cancellation period but no refunds will be given to rentals ended early, submitted late (less than a day before trip) or client doesn’t show up. Below are the cancellation charges based on the number of days before cancellation.
- A week or more – 30%
- 6- 3 days – 50%
- 2 to 0 days – 75%
