Kisoro

Location– The town kisoro is located at kisoro district which is found in the western region of Uganda. The district is boarded by Kanungu, kabale, Rwanda and Congo. It takes 45km by road, west of Kabale the largest town in the sub region.
History– Kisoro was inhabited by the Batwa who speak Lufumbirwa and these people are divided into clans with different religions like Nyabingi and Byangombe, they would bury them in mats .They carried out farming.


Attractions
Mgahinga gorilla national park- This is part of Virunga conservation area and it’s among the areas that offer habitat for the endangered gorillas and so there is gorilla tracking in the park.
Volcano climbing- This offers mount Sabinya and mount Muhavura physical fit hikers for the excellent volcano climbing experiences.
Cave exploitation- Soko, Ruhenju Mwambike and Garama caves is where the Batwa lived and fought their neighbors. Tourists are guided on how they lived and fought the Bantu out of the cave.
Crater lakes- There are crater lakes like Lake Mutanda and it offers the best experience of sunset cruises and canoeing and fishing.
Forest and nature walks- Nature walks are carried out within and outside communities well as forest walks are held inside the parks.
Cultural performances- The Bafumbira and Batwa unique and rich cultural dances and performances which are done by the visitor’s request.

Bird watching and scenery viewing.
The viewing of the rift valley and the beautiful crater lakes offer great scenic views and bird watching which is carried out along the edge of the park with variety of bird species.
